Youth Confirmation Resources

Confirmation Data Sheet

Due October 13th, 2024

This form helps us with keeping records and sending records of Confirmation to parishes of baptism. Please have your student bring this with them to the first class, or email to Mary Gross, formation-secretary@stmattoc.org.

Confirmation Sponsor

Guidelines:

To be admitted to the role of sponsor, a person must:

• Be designated by the one to be confirmed
• Be at least 16 years old
• Be a practicing Catholic who has already received the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation, and leads a life in harmony with the faith and the role to be undertaken.
• Not be the father or mother of the one to be confirmed

We require all students to complete a total of 30 hours by the time of Confirmation, from their freshman to junior year.  Not sure where to start? Click on the button below for a list of service opportunities.

Important Dates

2024-25

• January 12th, 2025: Basilica Trip
• February 21st, 2025: Class with sponsors
• October 4, 2025: 10:00am Rehearsal with Sponsor, main church
• October 5th, 2025:  2:00pm Confirmation with Bishop Jeffrey Haines

Please return all permission forms to your child's catechist.

Saint Name

Guidelines

Students are encouraged to research the name of a Catholic saint or Blessed (someone on the path to Sainthood) that they see as a role model in faith.  The use of their baptismal name in place of a saint name is also possible, or a family name. The document below contains instructions.  Due February 9th, 2025.
