Catechists

Catechists serve as the lead teachers of their classroom.  All training and materials are provided.  You do not need to be an expert in the Catholic faith - you just need to be willing to be present with the children and walk along side them.  Many adults are amazed how much they learn (or re-learn) as they share the teachings of our Catholic faith with the children or youth.

Catechists are needed for various ages and classes take place at various times.  We serve children age 3 - high school.  Some classes take place on Sundays mornings and others take place Monday evening.

 All catechists must have completed or be willing to complete the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's Safe Environment Curriculum, and pass a background check. For more information on this training, please click here.

Classroom Aides

Assist the catechist with various tasks within the classroom. This could include preparing materials or helping to keep the children on task.

Children's Liturgy of the Word - leader or assistant

Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) takes place once a month, during the 10am Mass.  During Mass, Fr. Pat invites children ages 4-10 to go with the CLOW leader and assistant to hear the readings at a more child-friendly level.  The leader leads the children to the gathering space and shares the Mass readings using the Children's Lectionary.  The leader then talks about the readings, helping the children to understand what they just heard.  The petitions are prayed on a child-friendly level, and then the leader brings the children back into the church.  Assistants are there to help keep the children on task and assist as needed.
